Additional Information

“The stereoscopic pairs in this book are revolutionary. It has often been said that a picture is worth 1,000 words. If this is true, a stereoscopic picture must be worth at least 100,000!”

BRIAN MAY

“It’s a rare book that combines beautiful imagery with total clarity in writing; this one not only accomplishes both but pushes the boundaries with three-dimensional stunners.”

NATURE

Featuring a breath-taking lenticular 3-D front cover, Cosmic Clouds 3-D is a visual masterpiece transporting readers into the sublime world of nebulae in stereoscopic (3-D) splendour for the first time. The book will take you on a mesmerising journey to a place that no other books have ventured – inside the nebulae, where stars are born.

Editor of the world’s leading Astronomy Magazine, David Eicher skilfully narrates the story of the birth, death and recycling of stars in nebulae and the formation of the elements that made the world and made us. We are, quite literally, made of stardust.

Eicher’s text is supported by explosive visuals of these clouds of dust and gas spanning unimaginable distances, brought to life in cutting edge 3-D for the first time in the history of astronomy. Readers will be stunned by the infinite variety of colours and shapes; some familiar with names such as the Eagle Nebula, the Pillars of Hercules, and the North America Nebula, and others, more obscure, referred to as the Tadpoles, the Helmet of Thor and the Mouldy Strawberry Nebulae. All are works of art hanging in the Universal Picture Gallery.

Renowned Finnish artist and astronomer, J-P Metsävainio, creatively constructed the 3-D images from his brilliant astrophotography. The thrilling result is a view of nebulae in depth with foreground and background stars and galaxies, dark clouds, brilliant cosmic caverns and star clusters.

As we peer through the 3-D viewer designed by Brian May, we are transported into the magnificent scene of the birth of stars in almighty clouds of gas. This is the closest most of us will ever get to observing the biggest recycling program that exists.

Cosmic Clouds 3-D Bundles
13 October 2020  |

If there were more stars than 5 to rate my order then I shall give it one trillion, billion stars. I received Cosmic Cloud 3-D Bundles a few days ago and I have not put it down only to write to you. LOVELY! Is the only word that I can think of to describe the collection of my two books and two packs of 3-D cards. I have seen other things that I would enjoy and order soon. Thank you, Brian May for all that you have done to make this world a better place.
